The Chosen One
I don't know. This one feels like it's missing something. I can't place it. If you spot it, let me know.

Dreams of Atlantis
So, I'm a little undecided. I got inspired by a song (one of the same name, by a group called Siren's Song), and wrote a short story. Only, I reached an end-point on the first page. It left some of the song unsaid, but it seemed like an appropriate ending, almost, for the tone of the story. I decided to try finishing it anyway, just to see if I liked it better, and I don't know if I do. The juxtaposition of magic and mundane intrigues me, and I like the new ending, too. So, opinions, oh esteemed writers of coalbiters?

The song, Dreams of AtlantisCollapse )

The first part, to the original endingCollapse )

That was where I first felt an ending.

The continuationCollapse )

Thoughts? Is it better as a shorter story, or does the rest of it actually add something that was absent in the beginning? Is it worth keeping the rest? Comments on anything else are also welcomed.

The Chosen One
Would you be prepared if gravity were to completely reverse itself?Collapse )

This one is for tarafore, an attempt to illustrate and explore a point he made some time ago.

Writer's block
the revamp of "Calling of the Blood" just isn't flowing for me.  I thought I had the energy to completely re-write it, but I'm not sure I do.  I'm not giving up on it or anything, but it just feels flat to me, kinda like I'm beating a dead horse.  It doesn't have the magic it did when I first wrote them.  Or rewrote them.  sixteen times.  I'm just going to have to wait until I have the inspiration to really make it good.  It may be a while before I post to coalbiters again.

Sorry for the Delay...

...Aaaand now I've got writer's block.  Not so much where it needs to go, but how to get there without being boring.  I think the next scene has got to involve tension between Wolf and Reiko over bailing them out--Reiko doesn't want to jeapordize anyone, and orders the rest of the coterie to stay back, Wolf won't because of Morrigan.  Maybe a scene in central lockup, maybe a bailout scene, maybe more with Maria, like her trying to visit Morrigan.
